The story of Yakuza: Like a Dragon begins with the arrest of Ichiban Kasuga, a low-ranking grunt of a low-ranking yakuza family in Tokyo. The main character, who is in his late 20s, is confused and alone. He finds himself in a difficult situation where his family has been betrayed by the man he had been so loyal to, and the whole family has been destroyed.

In this story, there are various jobs that you can choose from, including the bodyguard, the musician, the actor, the artist, the writer, the director, etc. Each of these jobs gives you different abilities and skills, such as the ability to detect lies or to heal others.
